Indian Society for Trenchless Technology
Why dig Trenches when there are better solutions
No Dig India Show 2011 on 13th ~ 15th December 2011
“Underground is the future-Let's protect it jointly”
With the growth of Indian cities, particularly the megacities, continuing at an extremely fast pace, the need for abundant infrastructure and the demand for the Underground usage...............
This has reference to the recent road cave-ins reported from 23 different locations in New Delhi for which the onus of damage is being placed on Trenchless Technology. Such cave-ins, however, can also happen due to causes other than Trenchless like failures of deteriorated pipelines, or due to age or other factors like loading usage etc.
Unfortunately these cave-ins are being reported widely in the print media, with negative quotes about Trenchless, by different civic authority engineers. With such negative publicity, Trenchless business is bound to suffer badly unless appropriate actions are taken and clarifications are issued immediately. In addition, issue has to be appropriately taken up with different Government Departments and Municipal agencies so that such negative publicity stops. To address these, IndSTT held a meeting of trenchless service providers to chart out the strategy and action plan on 30th August 2010 at Conference Hall, 801, Hemkunt Chambers, 89, Nehru Place, New Delhi 110019 at 3.30 PM.
Based on the consensous decision from this meeting IndSTT is taking necessary onward actions to defend Trenchless Technology.
