No-Dig India February 2005 issue is in your hands. Earlier issue was released by Dr. (Prof.) Raymond L. Sterling at Hamburg, Germany during the Indian Workshop at 22nd No-Dig International. The trip also saw our visit to Glasgow Caledonian University at Glasgow and WRc at Swindon, London to further our understandings with these institutions. These understandings have started showing results as under:
Primarily IndSTT charted out its next year’s Human Resource Development calendar to provide the much needed impetus for HRD in trenchless. Our of this calendar we have successfully conducted two major Executive Development Programs (EDP), one for HDD Good Practices Guidelines and the other for Awareness on Subsurface & Trenchless Technology (SSTT).
It is also a matter of pride to mention that we have released two major guidelines in these EDPs for reference and use in India. We expect that these two guidelines would bring some transparency in trenchless works in India.
The next EDP we are planning is linked to the good practices guidelines in Microtunnelling, which again are much needed reference material for general sensitization of the stakeholders in India and the SAARC region.
This period has also seen admission of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) into the fraternity, which we are expect is going to provide momentum to our ongoing HRD initiative.
To know more about IndSTT HRD initiatives and participate in our EDPs, which we are sure going to be useful for the serious stakeholders, please communicate to us.
In addition to above, IndSTT is also involved in sensitizing the stakeholders about the benefits of Arbitration activities. Singapore International Arbitration Center in association with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) is establishing the SIAC–CIDC centre of arbitration at New Delhi through which various international arbitration cases are expected to be resolved. IndSTT members can consider joining this centre after receiving due certifications from SIAC–CIDC centre and should you desire more information talk or write to us.
We hope you will find this issue of interest and join the ongoing endeavours of IndSTT.
