"Trenchless Technology Selection Guidelines"
Subsurface construction projects create, maintain or replace assets those are expected to deliver service for a long time. Trenchless Technology (TT) is gaining popularity in all such activities due to the ease of operation & better quality. There are, however, many competing techniques that can be used to perform the same task. Differing factors of each technique, makes a select technique, more suitable for a specific requirement set-compared to other. Inappropriate technology selection leads to weak or, even at times failed assets. It is therefore, imperative that appropriate, Trenchless Technology must be selected. IndSTT is bringing out the Trenchless Technology Selection Guidelines to assist the construction engineer in selecting such technology on the basis of various factors like, Introduction to Trenchless Technology, Types of Trenchless Techniques available in three families, Addressing Duty requirements, Addressing Site Constraints, Meeting equipment requirements, Meeting installed materials & Consumable requirements, Meeting Project Execution Process requirements, Addressing Techno-Commercial Constraints. It is expected that by following these guidelines appropriate technology selections can be done.
"Schedule of Rates for Construction Projects Employing Trenchless Technology 2010 (Fourth edition)"
Though State-of-The-Art, Trenchless Technology techniques need to be applied on the basis of techno-commercial evaluation & comparison with conventional construction techniques. Project cost estimation & budgeting needs make it mandatory that the planning engineers must have access to the latest rate schedules for a better techno-commercial evaluation. IndSTT, to address this need, has already released the Schedule of Rates for Construction Projects Employing Trenchless Technology IIIrd edition. IndSTT is now releasing the fourth edition of the Schedule dated December2010. The SOR provides the brief specifications, units, unit rates and mode of measurements of different items of works required for Trenchless Technology applications. The schedule also contains the updated members directory so that project engineers can communicate to Trenchless Technology service providers for their needs.
"Survey of Indian Subsurface Construction Projects 2010"
Indian Subsurface Construction Industry is one of the fastest growing segments the global Subsurface Construction Industry. As these techniques have the global mobility, many techniques developers and patent holders would over require the information on Indian project requirements. Further the Indian project execution agencies require assistance in bench-marketing their projects on the basis of experiences of other agencies on similar projects. In addition, the service & material providers need the information about projects that are ongoing or expected in the near further for planning purpose. To address these requirements, IndSTT is conducting the survey of Indian Subsurface Construction Projects. Survey findings shall be released as the Survey of Indian Subsurface Construction Projects 2010.

"Interactive meets of Subsurface Construction Projects"
Large & Complex Subsurface Construction project become quite challenging due to multiplicity of involved agencies ranging from technology & service providers. Project implementing agencies may have difficulty in finding solutions or answers to different questions / issues / challenges facing them. This situations leads to several difficulties at the execution & project completion stages & may lead to project failure even. The best approach to address these challenges is to have the counsel of experienced professionals, manufactures and service providers by sharing the information about requirements, ideas to meet the challenges & arrive at possible solution. To accomplish this IndSTT is scheduling interactive meets on different Trenchless Project aspects during the No Dig India Show 20 ten & inviting project owners/consultants/implementing authorities to discuss their projects and chart the way forward.
"Technical Qualifying Criteria for Micro-tunneling Machine Operators"
New Delhi is embarking upon one of the largest Micro tunneling project for developing the Interceptor Sewers on different city drains. The combined length of these projects is 65 km which is to be completed in a time bound manner. One of the key factors for the success would be the technical qualifications of the Micro Tunnelling machine operators. At present, the Technical Qualifying Criteria for MT operators is not established in India & the only qualification sought is the past experience evaluated length wise. Such criteria is not sufficient to gange the technical competency of operators & a more direct approach to technical knowledge on the different aspects is imperative. To address this requirement, IndSTT is bringing out the Technical Qualifying Criteria for MT machine operators during the No Dig India Show 20 ten.
"Trenchless Service Providers need Articulation Round Table"
With its 15 years existence, Indian Trenchless Technology Industry is now gaining maturity. Several manufactures, equipment providers, designers, who are developing solutions for the service providers, have major presence in Indian Trenchless Technology Industry. Further, with the rapidly growing demands, it is the market of present & it is today's need that such stakeholders must develop solutions suiting specific Indian needs. To provide an interactive platform where the Indian service providers can articulate their technical & commercial needs to the stakeholders IndSTT, is hosting a Need Articulation Round Table where the relevant stakeholders are invited to articulate their points. It will be 'know your customers' for solution providers & 'know your suppliers' for service providers. The round table report will provide a road map to the stakeholders, both solution as well as service providers and is expected to be a valuable input for all the participants.
