Trenchless Technology is an Environmentally Sound Technology for developing, maintaining & managing sub-surface networks. It is quite efficient & effective for constructing or rehabilitating underground networks in densely populated areas as they help in avoiding above ground destruction. General Sensitization about the technologies, however, lags behind as they are quite recent & at times projects are executed in conventional methods through Trenchless Technology would have been more effective. There is, therefore, need of educating the engineers, responsible for such construction activities, about the technologies so that appropriate technology selection could be done for a better project execution.

Keeping this in view, Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT), the apex organization of Trenchless technology in India is embarking upon a nation wide training program for Sewer Rehabilitation Training (NSRT) to provide sensitization & education of Trenchless Technology amongst working engineers of various bodies owning such infrastructure assets and other related stakeholders. The first such training program has been planned to be held at Delhi on 5th & 6th of March 2009. This would be introductory course on Trenchless for the Municipal engineers developing and managing underground utility networks in various parts of nation.
